What makes a good profile page on MySpace?

What are the pre-requsites for anyone to have a decent looking profile page on MySpace. Some pages I have looked on, are so filled with stuff, you dont where to look. Are you all of the opinion, that less is more? I ask this question as we have to do a paper on this subject at Uni and with over 176 million pages it is vertually impossible to give an objective view based on all. One site that I accidentally found was at:

As a case in study, it looked neat, to the point and, well, simple.

If you want a good looking profile make your own layout....Google "Myspace Layout Generator" and one of those links should help you customize your own myspace profile. get videos from youtube or something. and music for your profile off myspace itself. Hope this helps

I think that something simple looks VERY good for a myspace page. I hate when people have so much stuff going on, especially all of those slideshows of pictures and all those videos on their page. All that stuff just gets in the way of why your REALLY there, to leave a comment or send a message. It also makes it take longer to load the page therefore making you not want to go to their page again.

I don't mind pictures of bands, movie posters, or other MySpace typical graphics found on profiles, as long as they're decently sized and don't take over the entire page as it can be overwhelming. Some users have way too many videos, media pictures, and personal slide shows, which is why most profiles range from 30 seconds up to as long as 5 minutes just to load, which can be pretty annoying. Personally, what makes a good profile, is a well organized profile with at least a little information about the user. I've seen so many profiles that are filled with junk that you can't find out anything about the user that you're left wondering, "who is this person?" The only option you really have is to judge that person simply based on their personal pictures.

In this case and after looking at the page you mentioned, I see that it is in perfect harmony.

The page is structured with a simple symmetric feel that allows the viewer sufficient breathing space to wander and to assimilate all corresponding pieces of information into a corrective whole.

In short, I would say that you must have been lucky to find that page, as many pages on that site are nothing but visual garbage. And indeed the photography is of an excellent standard deserving to be not on MySpace but in an art institute.
